Having a good date means dressing properly to make the best first impression possible. In addition to clothes, accessories are playing an increasingly important role in clothing. The accessories you wear can speak volumes about your values, your social status and your self-confidence. It will therefore be necessary to choose them carefully so that each of them is highlighted without doing too much bling. Accessories have somehow the power to make a boring outfit something more interesting and attractive.

Bracelets

Bracelets have long been considered a rather feminine accessory. Now, there is a wide range of bracelets, including leather bracelets, braided or not, wooden beads, metal or made of rope.

The rope and leather bracelets go perfectly together and go with almost any outfit you could think of during a date. Whether it is a formal or rather informal meeting, the bracelets will always be suitable. Watches

Watches should obviously match your outfit. If you have chosen to wear a formal outfit, a watch with a leather or metallic strap will be preferred. If it is a less formal and more “relaxed” appointment, a watch with a silicone or fabric strap will do the trick.

Bow ties

The typical accessory of any good self-respecting gentleman is the bow tie. This accessory is no longer only reserved for very chic or formal events such as weddings, but can now be worn more extensively. This accessory gives a very dandy, retro chic. There are also many types of bow ties here: bow ties in solid colors, with patterns, knitted, pre-knotted, knotted or even wooden bow ties. These are the latest trend and can take effect when worn with the right outfit. The knitted one gives a fairly retro style and could be suitable for a formal meeting in winter for example. A cotton bow tie with flower patterns would be suitable for a romantic meeting in summer.

Rings

A well worn ring can add a lot of value to an outfit. If you are more of a retro style, a signet ring with or without patterns, with or without precious stones. If you prefer subtlety and discretion, a black or gray ceramic or a discreet steel ring will do the trick. Here too, don’t overdo it, one to two rings at most. If you wish to wear2 rings, use one for each hand.

Finally, if you want to avoid any misunderstanding, do not wear a wedding-ring-like during your date, and even less to your left ring finger, this could quickly lead to confusion.

Necklaces

A multitude of possibilities are available to you in terms of men’s necklaces, leather, steel, silver, gold or even wooden pearl necklaces, there is something for everyone.

In recent years, keychain necklaces have returned to fashion with their vintage appearance. They are most often made of leather and there are some with a “cover” which make it possible not to publicly display your key in the eyes of all.

The silver, gold or steel chains are ideal for formal appointments because they are simple, refined and discreet. You can add a pendant to it if it is a less official date.

Tie clips

The tie clip is a very neat accessory and is suitable for any man wishing to display his elegance and style. This accessory always has its effect and gives the outfit real added value. Of course, who says tie clip says tie and thesetwo must therefore match. A gray tie clip on a black tie is the classic. If you want to go beyond the classic, go on a red tie with black pliers, guaranteed effect!

For a retro style, a wooden tie clip is the preferred accessory.

Little advice to all those who would like to wear pliers, place it on your tie between the 3rd and 4th button of your shirt from the top.

Cufflinks

Cufflinks are the killer detail. They are very often “hidden” either by your jacket, or simply because your hands will be placed on the table if you are at the restaurant. However, when noticed, the cufflinks always have an effect as it is clearly the final touch to your costume and the person in front of you can only appreciate this very subtle and well thought out gesture.

Try to match your cuff links with your tie clip if you wear one, the 2 accessories generally go together. On a white shirt, black or gray cufflinks are recommended. Here too, if you prefer to play it retro, choose wooden buttons. This will give a very refined and chic side to your costume.
